Donors

We strive to meet the highest standards in the services we provide, in our internal policies and procedures, in our financial stewardship, and in our  commitment to ethical behavior in all areas. We value the trust our donors and supporters place in us and work hard to ensure that your gifts are used in the best way possible to further our mission of providing innovative, inclusive services to children and adults with disabilities.

Sherwood Community Services endorses the Donor Bill of Rights as created by the American Association of Fund Raising Counsel (AAFRC), Association for Healthcare Philanthropy (AHP), the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), and the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE).

Sherwood is proud to meet all 20 of the Better Business Bureau standards for charitable accountability. Click here to see our BBB report.

There are many ways to help out, from one-time gifts, to ongoing donations through payroll deduction, to estate planning. Some companies have matching gift programs that will increase or double the value of your gift. We also have several fundraising events throughout the year, from a family music festival, to an elegant multi-course dinner, to our annual auction.

Individual and corporate gifts are crucial to the success and long-term survival of Sherwood's services. Thank you for your support!

Other Ways to Get Involved

Each year, over 200 people help out by volunteering. Some volunteer for the United Way Days of Caring or the Boeing Community Day, or simply come alone or with a small group. They help with painting, landscaping, minor repairs, and other projects at our Lake Stevens campus. Others serve on our very active Development Committee, which organizes fundraising events throughout the year, or serve as board members, overseeing the policy and operations of the organization to ensure that we offer the best services possible. If you're interested in volunteering or joining the board, please contact us at sherwood@sherwoodcs.org.
