Hiring Range: $18.87 - $21.71* DOE

Position Summary

The Career and Community Connections Program at Sherwood provides opportunities and assistance for people with disabilities to find and retain employment. This position assists individuals with disabilities in obtaining, maintaining and advancing in community paid employment that is consistent with their vocational goals. Duties include getting to know people and their interests, assisting with resumes and job applications, approaching perspective employers to hire individuals, support during interviews, assistance during hiring and on the job training. This position also maintains excellent communication with the participant, the referring agency, family, guardian, and other involved parties. Must secure job performance feedback from employer and make appropriate adjustments to individual’s employment plan to enhance job performance. Must maintain a minimum caseload and provide required documentation in files. Training will be provided.

 

Qualifications:

High School diploma with a minimum of one year experience working with individuals in vocational settings or one year working in the human services field or related experience. Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong recordkeeping and financial management skills are a must. This position requires the ability to be creative in providing services that address the individual needs and desires of people we serve. Ability to work collaboratively with co-workers, families, and other professionals is vital.  Marketing/Sales experience is also preferred. Must possess a valid WA state driver’s license, have automobile insurance, and use own vehicle on the job with mileage reimbursement. Must pass criminal background check.
