Gayle joined the Sherwood team as an Employment Specialist in 2017. She has a passion for helping others reach their employment goals and lead independent lives. Gayle enjoys spending time with her family, baking and traveling

Angie Ramsey, Training Coordinator

I have worked in this field since 2013 when I moved to Washington State from the Midwest. The opportunity to support people in our communities to secure and maintain meaningful, engaging employment keeps me coming back every day with a sense of clarity and purpose. I enjoy turning community connections into job matches that benefit the people we serve as well as the businesses we support. In my role I get to support our amazing team of Employment Specialists providing excellent career and community connection services in Island and Skagit Counties. In my free time you’ll find me with my husband and two young kiddos- hiking, beach-going, reading and watching movies on beautiful Whidbey Island.

Dominique Sherwood, Snohomish County Manager

Dominique joined the Sherwood Team in 2022 and has a background in Social Service, Education, and Insurance, and is passionate about providing the support and encouragement to help individuals achieved their goals and aspirations. They believe everyone has the right to access meaningful connections in their community, whether through employment or community inclusion, and they are committed to helping others with compassion and integrity.
Outside of work, Dominique enjoys spending time with their family and son, exploring the beautiful state of Washington hiking, kayaking, and camping.

Abigayle Rabenstein, Skagit and San Juan County Manager

Abigayle joined Sherwood in July 2023 as an Employment Specialist I, bringing with her extensive experience supporting young adults with disabilities through a local transition program focused on job readiness and vocational development. She now serves as a Program Manager, where she continues her commitment to empowering individuals to pursue meaningful employment, build confidence, and feel a strong sense of purpose and inclusion within their communities.

Abigayle is passionate about breaking down barriers and promoting equity, self-determination, and person-centered services. She believes that every individual deserves the opportunity to share their talents and be valued for their contributions. Seeing the real-world impact of Sherwood’s work and the difference it makes in people’s lives is what inspires her every day.

Outside of work, Abigayle enjoys reading and finding meaningful ways to stay connected with loved ones, such as sending holiday cards for nearly every occasion to family and extended relatives. She cherishes time with her husband and their two dogs, whether visiting local dog parks, playing ball with their fetch-obsessed cocker spaniel, or relaxing at home watching movies and discovering new TV shows.

Veronica Coffman-Salvador, Employment Specialist II

Veronica joined Sherwood in 2023. She wanted to make a difference in people's lives and to make the world a better place, and Sherwood was the perfect fit. Veronica loves to spend time with her family and being out in nature. Some of her favorite hobbies are archery, performing in historical reenactments, and reading.

Lisa Scoville, Employment Specialist II

Lisa joined the Sherwood team in 2021. She comes to us with a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Capella University with a focus on lifespan developmental psychology. Lisa brings to Sherwood many years of experience in the business community and a passion for teaching and helping others to achieve their goals. In her free time, Lisa enjoys playing video games with her husband and hanging out with her two dogs Riley and Milo.

Brandon Adkins, Employment Specialist I

Brandon Joined Sherwood in January of 2024, on his birthday. He has worked in the culinary industry for close to 20 years, has experience in corporate training, and has experienced all types of work environments. Brandon wants to make a positive impact and help people empower themselves to obtain goals and gain independence. Brandon has a teenage daughter that likes to keep him busy. He coaches her basketball team and cheers her on in other sports. Outside of work, Brandon enjoys making meals from scratch for his family dinners and special occasions.

Stephanie Golden, Employment Specialist I

Stephanie joined Sherwood as an employment specialist in February 2025. She is a former special education teacher with 5 years of experience in various states. She loves working with people with disabilities and helping them have a full life. Outside of work, she enjoys playing with her guinea pig and exploring Washington state with her friends and husband.

James Hagglund, Employment Specialist I

James joined Sherwood in November of 2023. He is passionate about helping families and fostering a strong community. In his free time, James enjoys golfing, attending local music and sporting events, and spending quality moments with family and friends. Volunteering is a significant part of his life as well, allowing him to give back and make a positive impact. James' commitment to community service and personal connections defines who he is.

Sig Hall, Employment Specialist I

Sig Hall joined Sherwood Community Services as an Employment Specialist in April 2025. With a strong commitment to equity and inclusion, Sig was inspired to join Sherwood after personally witnessing the systemic barriers faced by family and friends with disabilities. Outside of work, Sig is a writer, illustrator, outdoor enthusiast, and martial artist who brings creativity, discipline, and a deep sense of purpose to all they do.

Laurie Harris, Employment Specialist I

Laurie joined Sherwood Community Services in March 2024. With a diverse background that includes retail, scientific research for a non-profit, dispatch, and call center roles, Laurie brings a unique perspective to the work of supporting individuals with disabilities. Driven by a lifelong desire to make a real impact, Laurie has found purpose and fulfillment at Sherwood. Outside of work, Laurie enjoys gardening, creative projects, and is an avid board gamer. Her curiosity, compassion, and commitment to inclusion make her an inspiring part of the Sherwood team.

Syd Hockin Employment Specialist I

Syd joined Sherwood in September 2024, bringing a passion for community support and a deep commitment to helping others succeed. Inspired by a close friend who recognized her potential, Syd began her journey as an employment specialist and quickly discovered a genuine love for the work. She finds fulfillment in building relationships and empowering individuals to explore their interests and grow in their careers.
Outside of work, Syd enjoys an active lifestyle—bike riding, swimming at the beach, going camping, and creating handmade jewelry for herself and her friends. Her creativity and enthusiasm carry through in everything she does, both professionally and personally.

Mackenzie Hopkins, Employment Specialist I

Mackenzie joined Sherwood Community Services in May 2024. She thrives on creating spaces where people can be fully themselves and pursue the goals that matter most to them. Mackenzie finds true joy in celebrating progress with the individuals she supports. Outside of work, Mackenzie enjoys camping, traveling, spending quality time with family, cooking, movie nights, cleaning (yes, really!), and the occasional well-earned nap. Her compassionate spirit and genuine connection with others make her a valued part of the Sherwood team.

Kristi Hovey, Employment Specialist I

Since joining Sherwood Community Services in September 2019, Kristi has been proud to support individuals on their journey toward meaningful employment and greater self-sufficiency. She is a people person at heart and has always been passionate about helping others gain independence and achieve their goals. Outside of work, Kristi loves spending quality time with friends and family, getting creative with painting and crafts, and relaxing with her dog. She brings compassion, positivity, and dedication to everything she does—both professionally and personally.

Chloe Paige, Employment Specialist I

Chloe joined Sherwood community services in January, 2025. With a heart for inclusion and a passion for empowering others, Chloe found her calling while volunteering at the Special Olympics—an experience that sparked Chloe’s dedication to supporting individuals with disabilities. That passion led Chloe to a career as a Certified Behavior Technician, and ultimately to Chloe’s current role as an Employment Specialist, where Chloe helps people build meaningful, inclusive lives through employment. Outside of work Chloe loves exploring the outdoors on hikes, getting lost in a good book, and laughing along to spoof movies. Chloe brings empathy, energy, and a genuine love for people into everything she does.

Michelle joined Sherwood in September, 2023. She is passionate about family and music, especially spending time with her grandkids. In her free time, Michelle enjoys walking her dog, attending concerts, traveling, and making memories with her grandchildren.

Gena Miller, Employment Specialist I

Gena joined the Sherwood team in March 2023 with previous Employment Specialist & Community Inclusion Support experience. She was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest and is grateful to call it home today. Gena's experience of having two younger brothers with disabilities, along with being a caregiver for individuals with mobility barriers, made her a close witness to the challenges faced by people with disabilities. This is what fuels Gena's commitment to support and empower her clients and to advocate for more inclusive work and social environments for everyone.

Desirae Sherwood, Employment Specialist I

Desirae has lived in Washington for just a few years and I grew up alongside my brother who has a developmental disability. She noticed how difficult the process of getting a job was for him. When Desirae heard about the work Sherwood Community Services does, she jumped at the opportunity to be a part of it. Her main passion and driving force in life is helping people and making a difference. Desirae enjoys being around others and enjoy developing her skills in order to make change and a lasting impact. Desirae's overall goal in life is to spread love and allow people to feel valued and fulfilled.

Cecili Wester, Employment Specialist I

Cecili joined Sherwood in December 2024. She is a proud member of the Upper Skagit Indian Tribe and grew up on Tulalip land. Cecili is honored to advocate for and support the members of her community.​
Alongside her husband, Cecili tends to a small farm in Monroe, Washington. She enjoys horse riding, a passion she has continued to love for over 20 years. Cecili and her husband have strong connections to the land that surrounds them. She states that each sunrise over their farm is a reminder of where we've come from and the powerful journey we're on together, fueled by love, hope, and an unwavering commitment to our community.

Cindy joined the Skagit County team in August of 2024, and brings a compassionate, people-centered approach to her role as an Employment Specialist. With a background in the medical field, Cindy has always been drawn to work that makes a positive impact. She actively involved in the life of her 5-year-old grandson with autism, so her lifelong dedication to supporting others is deeply personal. Cindy values the chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the people she supports, as well as their families.
Outside of work, Cindy enjoys anything outdoors, including hiking, camping, kayaking, and riding her motorcycle. She’s also a lover of all kinds of music, a proud Seahawks fan, and someone who cherishes quality time with her family and friends.

Alexis Collins, Employment Specialist I

Alexis joined Sherwood in October 2023, bringing passion, empathy, and a personal understanding of the challenges many face in life and employment. She is dedicated to supporting individuals with diverse needs, ensuring they have the tools, resources, and accommodations necessary not only to succeed in the workplace but to thrive.
Alexis believes that everyone learns, communicates, and experiences the world differently, and that workplaces should recognize and embrace those differences. Through her role, she works to shift perspectives, especially among businesses, helping them see the value in creating inclusive environments that empower individuals and strengthen communities.

Outside of work, Alexis enjoys driving to new and unplanned destinations, often with her dogs by her side, seeking out the peace and beauty of nature, especially the ocean. She also loves spending time with family and friends, reading, writing, bowling, thrift shopping, traveling, and volunteering whenever she can.

For Alexis, being an Employment Specialist is more than just a job, it’s the opportunity to make meaningful, lasting impacts on the lives of the people she serves, their families, and the broader community.

Miriam De Guzman joined Sherwood in May of 2025. She is passionate about working with the community and believes in the transformative power of helping others. For Miriam, one of the most rewarding parts of her work is witnessing individuals thrive, whether in their workplaces or as active, valued members of their communities.

Outside of work, Miriam enjoys spending cozy days at home with her husband, watching their favorite shows, cooking, and embracing simple, comforting activities that bring joy and connection.

Sherri Haney became a part of the Skagit County team in August of 2023, bringing with her a passion for helping individuals build meaningful connections within their communities. She finds fulfillment in supporting others as they work toward their goals. For her, there’s nothing more rewarding than celebrating the successes of the people she supports.
Outside of work, Sherri enjoys spending quality time with her family at local events, crocheting cozy blankets, and diving into horror movies and anything paranormal. Her creativity, compassion, and dedication make her a valued member of the Sherwood team.

Jolynn is a Graduate of UW and taught school for a short time before making Sherwood her career. She have been at Sherwood for over 30 years, making a difference, and Sherwood’s mission are words she lives her life by.

Ruby joined Sherwood Community Services on March, 2025. Growing up, Ruby witnessed firsthand the challenges her mother faced living with an undiagnosed disability. These experiences shaped Ruby’s dedication to helping others and highlighted the vital role organizations like Sherwood play in supporting individuals with disabilities. Ruby also lives with a disability herself, which further fuels her commitment to advocacy and inclusion. As an Employment Specialist, she is proud to be part of Sherwood’s mission and hopes to see its impact grow beyond Washington state to her home state of Missouri and throughout the Midwest.
Outside of work, Ruby is a creative writer and enjoys being part of the online gaming community. She brings the same passion for connection and storytelling from her hobbies into her professional work, empowering individuals to pursue meaningful opportunities and build stronger communities.

Megan joined the Sherwood team in November of 2023 having 3 years of social services experience and over 12 years of experience in the medical field prior. Social justice has been a constant driver throughout their academic, vocational, and personal journey. Joining the Sherwood team was an obvious opportunity to continue serving under-represented populations in our community. Megan enjoys forest bathing with their dogs, painting, dancing to music, and trying new plant-based recipes.

Danna joined Sherwood Community Services in January 2025. Helping people has always come naturally to her, it’s simply who she is. With a genuine passion for supporting others, Danna thrives on connecting individuals with opportunities that can truly change their lives. For her, the most rewarding part of the job is seeing someone succeed and knowing she played a small role in their journey.

Although Kim is new to living on the Island she has been a resident of Oak Harbor in her heart for years. Since Kim's move, she have thrown herself into the community and I couldn’t be happier!
