Angie Ramsey, Island County Manager

I have worked in this field since 2013 when I moved to Washington State from the Midwest. The opportunity to support people in our communities to secure and maintain meaningful, engaging employment keeps me coming back every day with a sense of clarity and purpose. I enjoy turning community connections into job matches that benefit the people we serve as well as the businesses we support. In my role I get to support our amazing team of Employment Specialists providing excellent career and community connection services in Island and Skagit Counties. In my free time you’ll find me with my husband and two young kiddos- hiking, beach-going, reading and watching movies on beautiful Whidbey Island.
Lindsay Raitz, Skagit County Manager
I have been in the field for 10 years. My passion is ensuring that each one of the client’s that we support reach their career and community goals and become integrated within their community! Integration and education is my biggest priority. I want to be able to be sure that our clients have all the resources they need to be able to participate in community activities, and that they know all of their options and what services are available to them.
Cara Cohn, San Juan County Manager

I have worked in this field for 12 years. I am passionate about finding meaning. I want to wake up every day knowing I that I will have a meaningful experience today. Each of us longs for meaning in the work we do. Providing support for folks who experience any kind of a disability is very meaningful to me. I get to support the dreams and aspirations of many individuals through the various programs Sherwood Community Services offers. I'd love a chance to talk with you about your hopes for your future and what gets you excited to face each day.

Ganelle Mullins, Employment Specialist Lead / ASL Interpreter (she/her)
I have been an employment specialist for about 9 years and have been with Sherwood since 2018. I work with I/DD Adults through DVR, DDA and local School Districts in Transition Programs. I look forward to locating jobs that match clients with employers for successful placement opportunities. I am very passionate about supporting both clients and employers in opportunities to further a community that promotes inclusion for all. Before becoming an Employment Specialist, I worked as a Para for various school districts supporting students that were Deaf/Hard of Hearing.

I enjoy gardening, canning, sewing, knitting, crocheting and various other crafty things. I recently started collecting antiques that are useful such as a working treadle sewing machine and am looking to acquire a Spinning Wheel for making my own yarn for knitting. I have several Pomeranians that keep things noisy and interesting as well as grandchildren. My biggest joy is my family.

I have lived in Washington for just a few years and I grew up alongside my brother who has a developmental disability. I noticed how difficult the process of getting a job was for him. When I heard about the work Sherwood Community Services does, I jumped at the opportunity to be a part of it. My main passion and driving force in life is helping people and making a difference. I enjoy being around others and enjoy developing my skills in order to make change and a lasting impact. My overall goal in life is to spread love and allow people to feel valued and fulfilled.

It is my love of people, and my desire to help people, that makes working with Sherwood as an Employment Specialist the perfect career for me. Although I am new to living on the Island I have been a resident of Oak Harbor in my heart for years. Since my move, I have thrown myself into the community and I couldn’t be happier!

I joined the Sherwood team as an Employment Specialist I in January 2023. I graduated as a Special Education Teacher in 2017 in Argentina and since then I am working with people with differing disabilities. I enjoy helping people and I strongly believe that work changes lives, provides autonomy, independence and good self- esteem. I feel like Sherwood’s mission matches with my values and I am really happy to be part of this team. Outside of work you will find me skating and enjoying nature.
