Angie Ramsey, Skagit/Island County Manager

I have worked in this field since 2013 when I moved to Washington State from the Midwest.  The opportunity to support people in our communities to secure and maintain meaningful, engaging employment keeps me coming back every day with a sense of clarity and purpose. I enjoy turning community connections into job matches that benefit the people we serve as well as the businesses we support.  In my role I get to support our amazing team of Employment Specialists providing excellent vocational services in Island and Skagit Counties. In my free time you’ll find me with my husband and two young kiddos- hiking, beach-going, reading and watching movies on beautiful Whidbey Island.

I have worked in this field for 12 years. I am passionate about finding meaning. I want to wake up every day knowing I that I will have a meaningful experience today. Each of us longs for meaning in the work we do. Providing support for folks who experience any kind of a disability is very meaningful to me. I get to support the dreams and aspirations of many individuals through the various programs Sherwood Community Services offers. I'd love a chance to talk with you about your hopes for your future and what gets you excited to face each day.

Ganelle Mullins

Ganelle Mullins, Employment Specialist Lead / ASL Interpreter (she/her)

I have been an employment specialist for about 9 years and have been with Sherwood since 2018. I work with I/DD Adults through DVR, DDA and local School Districts in Transition Programs. I look forward to locating jobs that match clients with employers for successful placement opportunities. I am very passionate about supporting both clients and employers in opportunities to further a community that promotes inclusion for all. Before becoming an Employment Specialist, I worked as a Para for various school districts supporting students that were Deaf/Hard of Hearing.

I enjoy gardening, canning, sewing, knitting, crocheting and various other crafty things. I recently started collecting antiques that are useful such as a working treadle sewing machine and am looking to acquire a Spinning Wheel for making my own yarn for knitting. I have several Pomeranians that keep things noisy and interesting as well as grandchildren. My biggest joy is my family.

(Skagit County)

I have worked in the Social Services since 2017 after graduating from Skagit Valley College, in Mt. Vernon. I always knew I wanted to work with and serve people within my community, and I have had many great opportunities and experience since doing so.

Some of those have been with Job Corps, addiction recovery and working in residential settings with at rick youth. You might say people are my business, my job is hope and giving it to others. I was given the best opportunity this July to join an amazing organization whose very mission statement is believing in abilities. That is the very embodiment of hope, and I get to believe in peoples hope for the future through their abilities. Their ability to have the best life possible through empowered employment.
