Sherwood Announces Our 2024 Award Winners at "Evening of Believing"

Each year we announce the winners of several awards Sherwood has created to acknowledge members of our community for their outstanding work. Thank you to these amazing individuals that not only Believing in Abilities, but work so hard to improve the communities they serve!
Taylor’s Plumbing was awarded the Mohamed El Soussey Award for their continued support of Sherwood and sharing our mission with the community. Taylor’s Plumbing has donated time and services, by keeping the plumbing of Sherwood’s Lake Stevens office running and up to code. They were also a generous $10,000 matching donor in our evenings fund a need.
Craig Brewster, Assistant Principle of Marysville-Getchell Highschool, was awarded the Hazel Venables Award for his support and belief that all people are capable of achievement. His career has centered around supporting the students he serves.
We introduced a new award this year, the Lifetime Achievement Award. Mike Hatch, has spent over 30 years dedicated to making communities more welcoming for individuals with disabilities, and is our first recipient of this award. In addition, he has served on the Washington State Rehab Council, Governor’s Committee for Disability and Employment Issues, Snohomish County Private Industry Panel, Co-Chair of the Snohomish County DD Advisory Board and board member for The Arc of Snohomish County. Mike has spent over 30 year dedicated to making communities more welcoming for individuals with disabilities.
